My cousin Wardah (the Saudi) says:
"Why do you guys (i.e. Pakistanis) pronounce your Ws like Vs and Vs like Ws?"
I hate the tag "Pakistanis". Or worse, "Pakis". Shudder. But she has a fair point. Any answers to the question?

well basicaly when we try to pronounce the 'w' with the perfect round sound it kin dof sounds wanna-be-ish. it's pretty difficult, even though i try to say my w n v's properly. and those who say it wrong and try to say it properly find it wanna beish so don't even bother. so you see, you guys (saudi, amreekan whatever) are what we basically don't want to be. It's just a Pakistani thing =)
P.S: I am not being bitchy. It shows, right?
Haha *much love*
lol. i think it has more to do with the fact that there is no seperate letter for the phonetic sounds of v or w. Urdu only has the letter 'wouw'.
